Youth Summer Programs | Camp Concordia

We currently offer 4-week, 3-week (open to first time campers only), and 2-week Programs.

4-Week Program: Ages 7-18 | June 26 – July 21

Aspire, Accomplish & Achieve

Half Day (AM 9 – 12 noon & PM 1 – 4) or Full Day 9 – 4

Camp Highlights:

  • Each student/camper will choose their specialty for half day or two specialties for full day. Lunch is offered for an additional cost for full day campers.
  • Students, musicians and faculty work and perform side-by-side throughout the day in their specialty
  • This will raise their technical and artistic talents exponentially on their developmental level. The mentoring experience has a profound impact on their development.
  • The camp provides performances at the Concordia Conservatory Summer Festival in the Sommer Center on the evening of July 21 & 22 and outreach concerts at The Wartburg.

Specialties:

  1. Chamber Music Instrumental - AM Ages 7-18, PM Ages 7-18  (Includes piano & guitar)
  2. Musical Theatre - AM Ages 7-10, PM Ages 11-13
  3. Vocal Arts - AM Ages 11-18, PM Grades 11-18
  4. Songwriting /Composition - AM Ages 11-18, PM Ages 11-18
  5. Rock/Pop Music - PM Ages 11-16

3-Week Program: Ages 6-8 | June 26 - July 14 & July 17- August 4

Open to first-time campers only

Half Day 9 – 12noon | Full Day (Enrichment & Sports)

Great Beginnings Piano

This camp offers children the basics of piano. Children will be introduced to listening skills and the fundamental elements of rhythm, melody and notation. The camp progresses through a piano and theory method book.

Suzuki Strings

Concordia Conservatory Suzuki Camp is designed to provide study in the philosophy and methods of Dr. Shinichi Suzuki for violin, viola, cello, and guitar. The program will include small group lessons divided by level, music and movement, larger ensembles, and musicianship. Suzuki Camp is intended for students of all ages from beginner to advanced level.

2-Week Intensive Program | July 24 – August 4

Each student/camper will choose their SPECIALTY for half day or two SPECIALTIES for full day. Lunch is offered for an additional cost for full day campers. Students, musicians and faculty work and perform side-by-side throughout the day in their SPECIALTY. The camp session will culminate in a performance on August 4.
