Our 16th annual Music Play-a-thon for Scholarship will take place on March 16, 2019. Concordia Conservatory hosts this annual event to raise funds for its scholarship and outreach program through student and faculty involvement and participation.
The Play-a-thon will run from 9:30-4:00 in the Schultz Chapel in the Sommer Center at Concordia College, during which time students and faculty will drop by and perform, having collected sponsorships for their playing time.
Highlighting the day are two programs in the Schoenfeld Campus Center. At 11:00 am, we will present our Musical Adventures outreach program, Abraca Do-Re-Mi. This one-act show was written by Conservatory faculty Rami Vamos, features a student cast of seventeen, and is led by Ana Dimas (stage direction and choreography) and Jon Klibonoff (music director).
At 2:00 pm, Band Bash, featuring two student rock bands led by Bob Gingery, will energize the crowd with music of Rush, The Beatles, Van Halen and other classic rock bands.
All proceeds go to the scholarship fund.
