The Center for Contextual Leadership

Lead Where You Are

Work as

An intensive, faith-informed leadership program open to students of all disciplines

Concordia's Center for Contextual Leadership (C4CL) is suite of degree programs with a common emphasis: training leaders for vocation and ministry in the widest possible range of career choices. While many graduates of the program will serve in a professional church vocation, others will follow their internal calling to serve the Lord by using their gifts in their own chosen field.

The program seeks students who want to make a positive impact and real difference in the world, increasing their personal marketability as they develop the confidence to lead through a rigorous and challenging interdisciplinary program. Graduates will be rooted in leadership theory, exposed to the nuances of their area of focus, and capable of leading sustainable organizations.

C4CL offers a BA in Theology, a BS in Business, a minor in Spanish, and an MS in Leadership.

Undergraduate students in the program can follow C4CL’s 5-year bachelor’s/master’s curriculum; alternatively, students can be enrolled in any of Concordia’s undergraduate majors, with the understanding that their bachelor-level study will be accelerated so that they will be able to complete both their bachelor’s degree and Master of Leadership within five years.

College graduates can earn a stand-alone Master of Leadership through C4CL, which includes a three-course sequence in any of Concordia’s master’s degree programs to tailor the degree to the student’s individual interests or career needs.

All C4CL students benefit from classes and independent study with senior Concordia College leaders who have deep, real-world experience in business, non-profit and education sectors – an opportunity unique to our small school environment. Intensive internships will make students job market-ready in their chosen field.
