Teaching, showing, and living

OUR FAITH

Concordia College fosters Christian living and encourages students to commit their lives to the service of God in the vocations of their choice.

It's who we are.

The beliefs of the Christian faith and the teachings of the Lutheran Church are the guiding principles for our campus. While Concordia is a Lutheran, Christ-Centered college, students of all faiths are welcome and flourish here.

From morning reflections to student-led Bible devotions, mission outreach programs, service learning and musical performance groups, our faith-infused campus offers spiritual nourishment for all.

Meet Our

CAMPUS PASTOR

WARM. DEDICATED. INSPIRATIONAL.

These are just a few words to describe Reverend Victor Belton. A Concordia College New York ('82) alum, he lives his vocation through his pastoral ministry and service for the greater good.

He has returned to Concordia to serve as our Vice President for Leadership and Campus Pastor, and he's passionate about the vocational and the spiritual flourishing of Concordia's students, staff and faculty.

Favorite Bible Verse:  Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.  (Proverbs 22:6)

Faith in

ACTION

Students are encouraged to participate in daily morning reflection services: a time for the entire campus community to unite for prayer and reflection. Weekend services in neighboring places of worship also provide means for spiritual growth.

Morning Reflections

For fifteen minutes each weekday morning, everyone in the Concordia community has the opportunity to gather for a moment of reflection and praise.

Center for Contextual Leadership

Training leaders for every context of life.

Living our Lutheran tradition, by word and spirit, we engage our vocations everyday as we learn and serve.

Community Service

At Concordia, students will find many ways to serve the school and greater community and give back to organizations they’re passionate about.

Service Trips

Service Trips allow our students to impact the world both near and far. Recently our nursing students travelled to India to assist with health care initiatives.

In Our Prayers

Every weekday morning, a devotional email arrives to inspire Concordia’s students, faculty and staff.

Campus Christian Ministry

This active campus service group spearheads several of Concordia’s service initiatives. Many of its members live and work together in historic Ressmeyer Residence Hall.

Church

RELATIONS

The Office of Church Relations nourishes relations between Concordia College and regional Lutheran congregations. We do many things, but above all, we aim to serve as a resource for you and your congregation, and connect you with your Concordia.

Program for

LAY DEACONS

The Concordia Lay Deacon Program trains lay leaders for ministries of word and service in congregations throughout the Eastern seaboard from New England to Florida. The program is a collaboration between the East Coast Common Endeavor Districts of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, and Concordia College New York.
