Concordia College New York has signed an agreement with Valparaiso University that will allow students to begin their engineering degree at Concordia and complete it at Valparaiso’s Indiana campus. The program is now admitting students for the 2019/2020 academic year.
Students can pursue a degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering. Semesters 1 – 5 at Concordia will include a variety of science, math and general education courses, plus summer courses at Valparaiso between the first and second years. Students who complete the five semesters with a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point are guaranteed admission to Valparaiso University, where semesters 6 – 10 will include advanced engineering classes and coursework toward a minor, plus project work, research, presentations and internships.
Concordia College New York was named a Best North Regional College in the 2019 U.S. News Best Colleges rankings; the same rankings placed Valparaiso University’s undergraduate engineering program 18th nationwide.
John McLoughlin, Concordia’s Senior Director of Enrollment said: “Concordia’s diverse community, supportive atmosphere, and commitment to personal attention will be important factors in the success of many students as they begin a rigorous engineering program. With a solid base of achievement at Concordia, students can transfer seamlessly to Valparaiso’s nationally-ranked College of Engineering.”
