The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) announced its Women's Tennis All-Academic Team on December 13. Concordia College New York senior Kristel Kalm (right, from Stockholm, Sweden), and sophomores Angelica Karlsson Hantzis (Fuengirola, Malaga, Spain), Franziska Putschbach (Moenchweiler, Germany) and Katrina Sta Cruz (Las Vegas, Nev.), all pictured below, were all named to the team.
Membership to the All-Academic Team is restricted to full-time student athletes in their second year at the member institution who have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of the immediate preceding term.
Kalm, a Business Administration student entering her senior year, earned 3.73 GPA and 13-13 overall in her final fall campaign.
An International Business Management major, Karlsson Hantzis had a 3.61 cumulative GPA heading into the fall. Karlsson Hantzis went a combined 23-7 between singles and doubles action, including a 14-1 mark in CACC play en route to First Team All-Conference honors.
Putschbach, a Business Administration major, had a team-high 3.91 GPA going into the 2018-19 academic year. She boasted a 21-8 combined record during the fall, with 12-4 in CACC action, including six triumphs at the Clippers' top doubles position.
A Biology major, Sta Cruz held a 3.75 GPA heading into the fall while going 15-8 overall between singles and doubles play during the fall 2018 docket.
Concordia's Women's Tennis team ended the fall with an 11-3 record, advancing to the CACC Championship finals. Congratulations to these exemplary student athletes!
