Concordia College’s Books & Coffee Series Presents Best-selling Novelist Yvette Manessis Corporon

Emmy Award-winning writer, producer and author Yvette Manessis Corporon will be at Concordia College on Thursday, February 8th to discuss her new book, Something Beautiful Happened: A Story of Survival and Courage in the Face of Evil.

The book is a family memoir that begins on a small Greek island during World War II, when the author’s grandmother – with the help of every resident of the island – shielded a Jewish family from the Nazi occupation. Intrigued by the stories she heard as a child, Yvette Manessis Corporon set out to track down the descendants of the family who was saved. In a twist of tragic irony, the author is forced to draw upon the lessons she learns from these survivors when members of her own family become the victims of an anti-Semitic attack.

Yvette Manessis Corporon will present her fascinating story in Concordia College’s Sommer Center at 7pm on Thursday, February 8th. The popular Books & Coffee series is free and open to the public. Please register at yvettecorporon.eventbrite.com.
