“Concordia is a place where you can grow academically, socially, spiritually, and EXCEPTIONALLY!”
Describe a typical Concordia student. Friendly, open-minded, cultured, and spiritual.
What’s Concordia’s best-kept secret? The beautiful cherry blossoms that bloom during second semester and eventually create a pink snow of petals when a spring shower arrives.
What’s your favorite campus hangout? I like to rendezvous with my friends after class in the quad. We relax on a blanket or the benches—it’s the best way to enjoy our gorgeous campus.
What do you like to do for fun? Concordia students are very musical—so my friends and I like to attend the performances on campus. We also enjoy going for afternoon drives through the neighborhood of Bronxville and admire the stately mansions (each of us has our favorite one). And, of course I love to jump on the train and hang out in Manhattan.
Is life at Concordia what you thought college would be like? Absolutely! I’m able to be independent and make my own schedule. Students at Concordia are serious about their education. Concordia gives me a very auspicious feeling—I’m lucky to enjoy the social lifestyle of college and, at the same time, I feel like I’m achieving my academic goals according to plan.
What do you like best about the “Concordia Experience?” The liberal arts aspect of the Concordia Distinctive has given me a well-rounded perspective of art, science, and the humanities. And, my Individual Graduation Plan lets me combine two areas of study, in math and psychology, which will open up many career avenues for me when I graduate.
Who is your faculty mentor? Dr. John Loase has a very similar education and concentration background to the one I am currently building. He is knowledgeable, open-minded and, best of all, supportive. I consider him a mentor and a friend.
What extracurricular activities are you involved in? Softball team, Student Government Association (President), and Environmental Activist Club. I’m very active on campus, and this has helped me become more confident and professional in the way I interact with my peers and my professors.
