What has surprised you most about Concordia?
Concordia is made up of students and student-athletes from many different parts of the world. I have been able to get to know a lot of people and learn about the many cultures on campus. On the tennis team alone, I have teammates from Russia, Sweden, France, Germany, Spain, and Brazil.
What is the best thing about attending a "small college"?
I’ve learned to like Concordia better because of its small size. The faculty is able to focus on students’ needs due to the small size of classes—and this has helped me a lot throughout my education at Concordia. Also, it’s easier to meet and interact with other students and get to know new and interesting people.
What experience has had the greatest impact on you so far?
Winning the National Tennis Championship and being ranked No. 1 in the nation for the second year running is something that I will remember forever. To be the first player in the history of Concordia College to do so is a very special feeling. I’m proud to represent Concordia and I’m grateful to the College for this amazing opportunity.
What are your professors like?
My business professors are well-trained and full of experience. At first, studying in English wasn’t easy, but my professors were supportive and patient. What I like the most is that business professors connect theory with the events happening around us in life. This makes the classes interesting and fun.
What has been most rewarding to you?
Balancing my academics with my athletics is very challenging, but rewarding too. Academics are very important to me, and tennis is part of my life since I was 6 years old. To be able to do both is most rewarding to me.
What do you like the best about Concordia’s location?
Concordia’s location is just perfect. The Village of Bronxville is a beautiful and peaceful place-- perfect for working and studying. On the other hand, just 20 minutes away by train I can experience all the charms and excitement of New York City, the center of the world.
