An Overview of Concordia
Founded in 1881, Concordia College is a four-year, co-educational liberal arts college located in suburban Westchester County, New York. The College is an institution of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod and, while the campus has a distinctly Christian atmosphere, students from all faiths are welcome. Academics
At Concordia, you’ll be immersed in a learning environment that will spark your imagination and give you the skills to build your future. We emphasize an interdisciplinary, hands-on approach to academics, grounded by a strong foundation of the liberal arts. You’ll see how what you learn in the classroom is connected to the real world through exciting experiential learning opportunities.

Choose from academic programs such as Biology, Business, Education, English, Liberal Studies, Social Sciences, and Social Work. We also offer Pre-Professional Studies—Pre-Deaconess, Pre-Law, Pre-Med, Pre-Seminary, and Pre-Vet, an honors program known as The Fellows, Lutheran Teachers Diploma, and Concordia Connection. The College also offers Adult Education Accelerated Degree Programs for adult students who are working and a full-scale English as a Second Language (ESL) program. The average student-faculty ratio is 16-to-1. Over 75 percent of the professors have the highest degrees in their fields.

Extracurriculars
Concordia students are active and involved. Opportunities for participationrange from student publications to intramurals, Bible study to student government and drama to social concern groups.

Our athletic teams compete in the NCAA Division II. Varsity sports include baseball, basketball, cross country, soccer, and tennis for men and basketball, cross country, soccer, softball, tennis, and volleyball for women.

Location
Concordia’s 33-acre campus is set in the small, affluent village of Bronxville. Bronxville is only one square mile in size and is home to 7,000 inhabitants including diplomats, corporate executives, lawyers, and a wide range of other professionals. From the Bronxville train station, it is just under 30-minutes to Grand Central Station in the heart of New York City.

Concordia College is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The Commission on High Education is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Commission of Recognition of Postsecondary Accreditation.

The Social Work Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).

The Education Program is accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).

The College is registered by the New York State Education Department and the International Center for English as a Second Language and is a member of the American Association of Intensive English Programs.
