The Festival Choir
The Festival Choir is a mixed-voice, auditioned choir of students, faculty, staff, and community members. The Festival Choir performs major choral masterpieces with orchestra in the late spring and Christmas as part of the Music at Concordia Concert Series.
Students may register for 0.5 credits per semester or audit the course (MUS 140B). This course is exempt from the overload charge.
The Tour Choir
The Tour Choir is a choir of 24-32 students. It is an auditioned, mixed-voice choir which performs music from a wide spectrum of cultures, eras, and styles on annual tours and for local church services. Students in the Tour Choir represent a variety of academic disciplines—from education and music to social work and religion—but all share a love of song and use their gifts for the glory of God. The Tour Choir is directed by Dr. Jason Thoms.

The Concordia Handbell Ensemble
The Concordia Handbell Ensemble is a three-octave set of Schulmerich bells played by 11 students. Students may enroll for 0.25 credit (MUS 140E) or choose to audit. The Handbell Ensemble prepares for Concordia chapels, programs, and community events and partners with the Concordia choirs for campus performances. It also plays for area Lutheran schools and churches.

Holy Ground–Contemporary Worship Music and Drama Group
This ensemble incorporates both contemporary Christian music and original short dramas to share the Gospel message with people of all ages. Following a long Concordia tradition, such as the New Beginning Singers, Mime and Music, and In His Name, the ensemble leads occasional campus chapel services and presents programs and chapels at area Lutheran schools and churches. Holy Ground is open to singers and instrumentalists and generally rehearses one hour a week.
The Chamber Choir is a group of eight to ten students who are auditioned from the Tour Choir. This mixed-voice choir performs music from a wide spectrum of cultures, eras, styles, and performs on tour with the Tour Choir. Students in the Chamber Choir must be able to read music and practice their parts independently. The Chamber Choir is directed by Dr. Jason Thoms.
Women’s Chorale is an un-auditioned choir for students, faculty, and community members. The choir sings a variety of music from popular music arrangements to classical music. Each year the Women’s Chorale combines with the Men’s Glee Club to form the Festival Choir, where they sing oratorios or major works with an orchestra. The Women’s Chorale is directed by Dr. Jason Thoms.
Men’s Glee Club
Men’s Glee Club is an un-auditioned choir for students, faculty and community members. The choir sings a variety of music from popular music arrangements to classical music. Each year the Women’s Chorale combines with the Men’s Glee Club to form the Festival Choir, where they sing oratorios or major works with an orchestra. The Men’s Glee Club is directed by Dr. Jason Thoms.
The GospelKnights (GK) is an un-auditioned choir for students, faculty, staff, and community members. GK is a diverse, vocally dynamic and highly choreographed ensemble that is grounded in contemporary urban gospel music. GK hosts the annual Martin Luther King GospelFest Concert, sings in the campus chapel services, school and community events as well as national gospel choir competitions. The GospelKnights is directed by Carson Stapleton.
