Since its 2002 inaugural year, the Cade Center for Worship and Church Music has provided a forum for the study of worship, offering educational programs and resources to support excellence in worship, church music, and other arts within the context of Lutheran theology and tradition.

Epiphany Festival of Praise, January 21, 2007
An Epiphany Festival of Praise was held at the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Garden City, NY on January 21, 2007.  “Let All the Peoples Praise You!” (Ps 67:3) was the theme of this Atlantic District celebration praising God with music of many cultures. The Massed Children and Adult Choirs totaling over 200 singers led this musical festival which included the cantata, “Rejoice, Earth and Heaven” by Dietrich Buxtehude, special hymn arrangements accompanied with organ, brass ensemble, and tympani, and music and dance shared by various Atlantic District special mission musical ensembles.

Handbell Clinic, Saturday, February 24, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 PM
A Handbell Clinic will be held on Saturday, February 24, from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Concordia College–New York under nationally-known handbell director and composer, Dr. John Behnke. Handbell choirs, individual ringers, or those interested in finding out more about handbells will benefit from this workshop. Sessions include “Refining your Ringing Techniques,” “Using Bells in Worship,” and a reading session of new music.  Contact Dr. Jean Boehler, (914) 337-9300 x 2292, for more information.   

“Congregational Song” Workshop, Saturday, April 28, 9:00 AM - 11:45 AM
The Cade Center will be “going on the road” with the workshop “Congregational Song:  Singing Praise in a New Millennium” to be held at First Trinity Lutheran Church in Tonawanda, NY on Saturday, April 28, 2007 from 9:00-11:45. Sessions include “Hymn Accompaniment:  Does one size fit all?” led by Jean Boehler and “Hymnody in Worship Planning” lead by Rev. Robert Boehler. This workshop will also be presented at the Atlantic District Festival of Workshops on March 10, 2007.
