Don't Delay!
The sooner you complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the sooner we can assess your financial aid package. Here’s a quick overview of how to apply for federal aid.
Applying for Federal Need-based Aid
- FAFSA Priority Deadline is April 1. Reminder – Grants and scholarships are based on available institutional funding.
- Access the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online or pick up a hard copy FAFSA in your high school guidance office or college financial aid office.
- File the FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1 it is important that you complete the form as accurately as possible. It will help if you and your parents have already completed your federal tax forms. However, if you cannot do your taxes early, do not delay filing the FAFSA; use estimated figures, because adjustments can be made later. If at all possible, please file the form before the end of February. (Later applications will be accepted.) If you use estimates of income, please remember that our offer of financial aid can only be as good as the estimates given and corrections may be required.
- When you file the FAFSA, be sure to include Concordia’s Title IV school code: 002709
- You will receive your financial aid award letter from the College within three weeks of when we receive the SAR. Note: You must be officially accepted to the College in order to receive a financial aid award.
- New York State Residents All NY State residents should file the separate Express TAP Application (ETA) for a New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) Grant. The state has a secure link from the FAFSA Web site to TAP on the Web or you can wait for the ETA to be mailed directly to you as a result of the FAFSA you file. Concordia’s code for this form is 2040.
