
The mission of the New Media Communications and Digital Production Area of Study at Concordia College is to ground students in the study of digital technologies and their new modes of communication within a liberal arts education. The program emphasizes ethical and social awareness. Its curriculum integrates digital production with theory, critical studies, and writing. The program seeks to prepare students for the constantly changing new media arena.
Students who successfully complete this area of study shall:
- Develop a proficiency in digital media-making
- Experience connections with professional resources and contacts in the media field
- Gain a larger understanding of media from a global perspective
- Be exposed to aesthetic, social, ethical and technical issues in new media.
