Getting Books from Another Library
What is Interlibrary Loan?
Interlibrary loan (ILL) is a way for students, faculty and staff of Concordia to access materials that can't be found in Concordia's library. The book or journal article is found at another library and is delivered here at no cost to you. Usually audio-visual materials are not available on ILL. Please plan ahead as it often takes 2-3 weeks for the item to come in.
How do I do it?
Start by finding the “bibliographic citation” (title, author, publisher, copyright etc.). When you’re sure we don’t have that item here at Concordia, fill out an Interlibrary Loan form.
You will be notified by campus email or phone when your request comes in.
Westchester Library System Cards
Concordia students may obtain a library card from Westchester Library System. Visit the Bronxville or the Eastchester Branches and show you student I.D. card. You will be allowed to check out and request from their system.
In an effort to become a more green campus, Concordia has implemented a print and copy accounting system. At the beginning of each semester, all students receive a credit of $40 dollars to use towards printing and copying. The credit is reset each semester – there is NO carry over semester to semester. Each page printed or copied at machines in the Information Commons decreases your balance until you run out of pages – at which point you can visit the reference librarians to add pages for a fee.
Fees approved for the 2011-12 academic year are:
$0.10 per page – single-sided, black and white
$0.08 per page – double-sided, black and white
$0.25 per page – single-sided, color
$0.20 per page – double-sided, color
If a student were to print only double-sided, black and white pages that would allow up to 500 pages in a semester.
Wireless Printing
You can now print from your personal computer to the printers in the library. Go to http://print.concordia-ny.edu and follow the instructions posted online. More information will be included in future updates to this guide.
