A Message From President Viji George

Welcome to Concordia College!

I am excited to introduce you to our college, where you will learn the skills, knowledge, and values essential for future success. This is an exciting time, as the College is enjoying record enrollment and the most academic offerings in our long history.

The College is a close knit community just 30 minutes from the world’s greatest classroom, New York City. Our undergraduate curriculum, The Concordia Experience, offers experiential, individualized, and focused programs tailored to each student’s interests and goals. The Concordia Experience is comprised of nine academic programs, all of which blend traditional classroom academics with hands-on, real world experiential learning, preparing graduates for a successful life and career. Eight of the programs— Biology, Business, Education, English, Health Studies, Nursing,Social Sciences, and Social Work —are outgrowths of the areas that engage most of our current students. The ninth program, Liberal Studies, challenges students to create their own individualized educational experiences, working one-on-one with advisors to concentrate their studies across fields of their own choosing, such as Religion and Education, Math and Chemistry, or History and Classics. This curriculum is built for students interested in more individualized programs of study, close interaction with faculty advisors, and greater opportunities for "real world" learning to prepare them for life after college. Above all, it ensures our students a breadth of exposure to the important disciplines that are basic to the faith-based, value-oriented, liberal arts education which we have been committed to providing since 1881.

Our dynamic graduate offerings include a Master of Science in Childhood Special Education, Master of Science in Childhood General/Special Education or Master of Science in Business Leadership that will set you on a path to a career that fits your purpose and your passion. At Concordia, we challenge you to do more than think—we challenge you to do what you learn.

Sincerely in Christ,

Viji George, Ed.D.
President
