1. Overview

Thank you for visiting www.concordia-ny.edu (the "Web Site") and reviewing our Privacy Policy. Your privacy is important to us, and our policy is simple: we will collect no personally identifiable information about you when you visit the Web Site unless you knowingly and voluntarily provide that information. This Privacy Policy does not describe information collection practices on other sites, including those linked to or from the Web Site.

Concordia College will not distribute, sell or rent your name or personal information about you to any third party. Concordia College may share non-personal, non-individual information in aggregate form with its marketing partners for research purposes.

2. Information We Collect

The server on which the Web Site is located collects and saves only the information customarily logged by web server software. Such information may include but is not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs and other communication data, including your IP address, the date and time you accessed or left the Web Site and which pages you viewed.  Some parts of our Web Site use cookies and other technologies to collect this information about your general internet usage.  See section below “How We Use Cookies” to learn more.

We also collect information that you provide directly to us by, for example, completing an on-line transaction or by sending an email on our Web Site.  This information  may include, but is not limited to name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, gender, student status, high school(s) or college(s) attending/attended, grade point average (GPA), company name, extracurricular activities and/or interests, information about your major(s), degree(s), or certification(s), and other information provided to us when you communicate with us.

3. How We Use Cookies

A “cookie” is a piece of text which is placed on your computer’s hard drive. Cookies help us manage our Web Site by providing information on the type of content accessed, the length of time spent on our Web Site and the services used by visitors. The information we collect is based on a visitor’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, which is the location of a computer or network, and does not include any personally identifiable information. 

4. Behavioral Advertising

Our Web Site uses a tracking technology called Google Analytics to obtain information such as a visitor’s IP address, Internet domain and host names, browser software, and the date and time that the Web Site is visited to help us evaluate the activities of visitors to our Web Site.  Data obtained through Google Analytics does not include and is not linked to any personally identifiable information.  Google Analytics will use cookies and other tracking technologies to conduct the analytics they perform for us. Information obtained from Google Analytics enables us to manage our Web Site and visitor experiences.

6. Opt-Out Option

All computers have the ability to decline cookies.  This can be done by activating the setting on your browser which enables you to decline the cookies. 7. How We Use Your Information

Concordia College will not distribute, sell or rent your name or personal information about you to any third party. The information that we collect and store relating to you is primarily used to enable us to provide our services to you in the best possible manner.  We may share the information we collect from you with third parties that provide support services to us, such as web hosting, data collection and analytics.  In those circumstances, we disclose only the information necessary to perform the specified service and require that the third party provider maintain the confidentiality of your information. 

In addition, we may use the information to provide you with information relating to our school; to provide third parties with statistical information about the users of our Web Site; or to monitor and conduct an analysis of our Web Site traffic and usage patterns.

Concordia College may share non-personal, non-individual information in aggregate form with its marketing partners for research purposes.

8. Security of Your Information

Concordia College takes all reasonable physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect on our Web Site.

While the security of your information is of the utmost importance to Concordia College, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you disclose to us online and on our Web Site. Any information you choose to disclose is done at your own risk.

9. E-Commerce

If you choose to make a deposit, purchase a ticket or a course, submit a donation, purchase items from our e-store, or make any other payments through our Web Site, we will collect your contact information, as well as your credit or debit card information, and other information necessary to complete your purchase and payment.  We will also collect any other information you submit to us for any reason. Please note that some of the links provided to you through our Web Site are controlled by third parties.  We are not responsible for those third-party web sites.  See section below “Third Party Websites” to learn more.

10. Third Party Websites

By accessing other third party websites through our Web Site, you are consenting to the terms and privacy policies of those web sites. We do not accept any responsibility or liability for their policies whatsoever as we have no control over them.  Please be sure to review third party privacy policies and terms of use to understand how they collect and disclose your information.

11. Children's Privacy

Our Web Site is not directed to children under thirteen (13) years of age, and children under such age must not use the Web Site or services offered on it to submit any individually identifiable information about themselves.  We are not liable for any damages that may result from a user’s misrepresentation of age.  Parents or legal guardians of children under thirteen (13) years of age cannot agree to these terms on their behalf.

The materials found on the Web Site, including, but not limited to, the selection, arrangement and presentation of all content (including information in the public domain) are protected by the copyright, trademark, and other relevant laws of the US and other jurisdictions.. Permission is granted to view and print materials from www.concordia-ny.edu for the personal, non-commercial purpose of viewing, reading and retaining for reference. Any other copying, distribution, retransmission or modification of information or materials on this site, whether in electronic or hard copy form, without the express prior written permission of Concordia College, is strictly prohibited.

Concordia College and other trademarks and/or service marks (including logos and designs) found on the Web Site are trademarks/service marks that identify Concordia College and the goods and/or services provided by Concordia College. Such marks may not be used under any circumstances without the prior written authorization of Concordia College.

Any actions concerning this Privacy Policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of New York State or Federal Courts located in the County of Westchester.
